Final Design Update
The City Park project continues to make significant progress. The design has advanced to approximately 95% completion, following the completion of the 90% construction documents, and the project is currently undergoing plan check while final environmental documents are being finalized. The final design includes an exciting mix of amenities such as an urban-style skate park, an all-ages pump track, and lighted outdoor basketball courts. The project also emphasizes environmental stewardship through a comprehensive tree preservation plan that will retain 46 existing trees, relocate 59 mature trees, and add 206 new trees throughout the park. In addition, the design preserves important pieces of Corona's history by incorporating features such as the Founders Rock, the historic fountain, and the iconic fig tree along Sixth Street. Construction is expected to begin Fall of 2026.
